Work stress can be caused by different factors pertaining to the workplace (ex-operational process changes, strategy changes, institutional restructuring, work obligation changes, work description changes, work associations alterations, novel technologies, equipment dearth, work conditions, etc.) as well as non-work life (ex-individual attributes changes, health concerns, debt burden, family committals, etc.) (‘Workplace Stress: A 21st Century Health Epidemic’ 2018).

Effective situation handling

The existing corporate environment is altering continually. Hence, novel organizational procedures and ideologies are surfaced to entities and personnel. Human resources are required to be thoroughly conscious regarding amendments, change buy-in strategies (for resisting personnel), and efficacious change implementation which not done precisely contributes to stress circumstances. Moreover, the HR department encounters the provocation of aligning with the organizational environment and it should have the ability to implement an efficacious process which should be a valuable extension to both institution and personnel.

 

Responsibility and Approachability

Institutional functionalities are arduous to detach from the operations of the HR department. All functional departments need to be furnished by HR department operations to perform efficaciously. Human resource managers should be sentient regarding personnel-related concerns and should be involved in implementing solving mechanisms through thorough and efficient communication.

Independence

The human resources department is required to ascertain each department/division has the independence to function by removing needless management inducement. This is significant since it expels demotivation circumstances and performance diminishing circumstances due to needless management and other department interference. Hence, HR needs to assure that workflow is persistent and institutional tactical vision and objectives are accomplished.

Other Roles

In work-centric problem-solving, HR personnel needs to perform a sentimental and professional role since those problems (ex-work relationship concerns, salary concerns, promotion concerns, etc.) are diverse and can induce work stress. Hence, it is pivotal to affiliate with staff in the problem-solving process. Furthermore, they are required to be a counselor and an agent who resolves personnel-cognate issues whilst enhancing the management of both work stress as well as personal stress which in return augment employee commitment.

Conclusion

The human resources department of any institution performs a pivotal role in personnel stress management and diminution (work and non-work). Both the HR department and management are required to understand that work stress management is a continual process that is a crucial element of their work responsibilities. Well-equipped human resources departments examine every stressor in the workplace and attempt to eliminate as many as possible by cooperating with relevant managers and employees. Raising understanding of hazardous effects of those stressors is precisely significant functionality of an HR department.

  3. Interesting and timely important good topic. But this part of HRM will be mostly targeted back-office staff and executives and above the staff. How can we apply this to 90% of our workforce who are in the bottom levels? They might not even herd this kind of concept. So how can we apply this for them specifically in the garments manufacturing sector while not disturbing productivity and efficiency?
